Alea Bushardt

Young American author. Following in the footsteps of the many pony authors who started as teenagers, Alea is their modern equivalent, writing her two pony books when 14 and 15 respectively. These form a short fantasy series in which two horse mad children end up in a fantasy land populated by unicorns. The books are gorgeously illustrated by great equine artist Jeanne Mellin. Apparently a third book in the series is on the way.

Alea was born in 1990. She has always loved horses and enjoys riding her palomino Sunny in barrel racing competitions. She is also a proponent of natural horsemanship. She began to write as a antidote to her autism and with her passion for horses, it seemed inevitable that they would appear in her stories.
